Profile

This section is all about you!

Overview

Language

The profile section is primarily for getting to your account settings and logging out. Oh, and the link to your own Viewer Page!

Profile Picture

The image that appears in the header and on the User Profile page comes from Gravatar and is based on the email address you used when signing up for Remote Falcon.

At the top of the profile menu in big ol' letters that should be hard to miss is your Show Name. What's special about this is if you click the name, it will open your Viewer Page in a new tab! Not going to go into details on the Viewer Page here, but feel free to open it and take a gander!

Account Settings

The account settings are exactly what you would think it is... setting for your account. There are three main sections in here, which are...

User Profile

This is where you can set your personal information (but not too personal). You can choose to add or update your first and last name or your Facebook and YouTube pages for your show. You don't have to add your name and Facebook or YouTube links, but if I ever decide to do something fancy like feature a users show, then it would be neat to also be able to share their social links.

In this section you are also able to update your show name and email address.

Changing Your Show Name

If you decide to change your show name it will also update your show URL. For example if your show name is currently Dunder Mifflin Light Show (dundermifflinlightshow.remotefalcon.com) and you change it to Staples Light Show, then your show URL will also change to stapleslightshow.remotefalcon.com.

Updating Your Email Address

If you update your email address, you will be automatically logged out of Remote Falcon and will have to verify the new email address. A verification email will be sent to the new address, so be on the lookout for it!

Account

Kind of redundant having an Account tab under Account Settings, but whatever. The most important thing you'll find here is your Remote Token.

Remote Token

Your Remote Token should be treated like a password. It's the alphanumeric token that gets added to the FPP or xSchedule plugins to let the plugin know which show account it needs to communicate with. This token cannot be used to access your Remote Falcon account, but if someone happens to get a hold of it and they don't like you, they could use it to take over your show. And I really don't want that to happen to you.

Request API Access

Calling all people who like to build their own thing! By getting access to the Remote Falcon API, you'll be able to add Remote Falcon to your own webpage. Clicking this button will generate some tokens and stuff for you and will send you an email showing you show to get started. It's pretty cool. You should check it out.

Remote Falcon API Docs

Be sure to keep up with the Remote Falcon API Specs on Swagger. This SwaggerHub link contains the latest spec.

Delete Account

I would be heartbroken to see you go, but I understand. If there's one thing high school taught me it's that sometimes you're going to get your heart broken. Just know, once you decide to leave me... I mean... delete your account, you will lose all your stuff and won't be able to sign in unless you sign up again.

Don't Leave Me

Change Password

Oh man, where do I begin on this one? There's so much to talk about...

Work Item Tracker

The Work Items seen in the tracker can also be seen on the Remote Falcon GitHub Issues page. Pretty much everything here is read only.

Grid

Clicking an entry on the grid will open a side drawer with some more details. Mainly the title, when it was created, and the description. There is also a link to the issue in GitHub so you can comment and interact with the issue. Let's dig into some of the grid item details.

Work Item Tracker

ID

Eh, not super important but helpful for quickly finding a work item.

Type

There are two types of people in this world... I mean two types of work items in this list. A Bug and a Feature. A Bug indicates something that is broken or not working correctly. A Feature is like a request for something new.

Title

That's it. The title of the work item.

Add Work Item

Clicking this plus button at the top left of the grid will open a new link to the Remote Falcon GitHub Issues page. If you don't have a GitHub account, feel free to create one! It's free and you'll be able to add new bugs/feature requests and keep track of all Remote Falcon changes!

Add Work Item

Docs

Clicking this will send you right back here. Be careful not to find yourself in an endless loop...

Logout

Pretty straight-forward if you ask me.
